The legend that is....Joe

We pride ourselves on celebrating success at Checkatrade and here is a great example of our very own Joe T smashing his revenue targets quarter by quarter.

Joe is one of our National Account Managers who joined us in August 2022. We recently caught up with him to see what his secret is….

So, what do you like most about your role? 

Account Management at Checkatrade encompasses a wide scope of responsibility so there’s plenty to enjoy in the role. We deal with the full lifecycle of a member’s experience - from initial pitch and onboarding to profile set-up, optimisation, troubleshooting and growth.

Naturally this level of engagement - working with established national brands, large regionals, and bullish start-ups – throws up plenty of unexpected hurdles to overcome, as well as opportunities, but we get through it by building strong relationships with our accounts. So, in short, the thing I really enjoy the most is getting under the bonnet, learning from the entrepreneurs who build and run these businesses, and helping them achieve their growth ambitions with our market leading platform.

And has the role lived up vs your expectations?

I’ve worked in lead gen and digital marketing for over a decade, so coming into this role I certainly had preconceptions around what the product might deliver. All I’ll say on that front is that Checkatrade PPL blows any other platform I’ve worked with in the past out of the water in terms of results and customer ROI.

The support from all our departments has far outstripped my expectations and Enterprise feels like a very exciting place to be positioned within the business.

What do you attribute your success to?

If I had to point to one practice that’s allowed me to deliver consistently, it would be regular, open, and honest communication with my accounts, peers, leadership, and colleagues across departments. Every day is a learning day.

How would you describe the culture at Checkatrade?

Checkatrade has an exciting buzz. We’re a well-established household name but there’s a sense that we’re also just counting down to take off and far bigger things are just over the horizon.

As you know, the team is continuing to grow, why should people join us on our journey?

We’re moving into a phase of exponential growth in Enterprise and any Account Manager looking to accelerate their career will be hard pushed to find a better platform to do so in.

And finally, we like to get to know our staff, so what is your favourite film?

This is a tricky one. The best I can do is a good old fashioned Mexican standoff between The Big Lebowski, Goodfellas and This Is Spinal Tap… with Step Brothers as a wildcard.
