About The Role

Pricing Analyst / Commercial Analyst

An exciting newly created opportunity has arisen for a highly analytical and numerate Pricing / Commercial Analyst to join our growing digital platform. Providing insights to the business in all matters relating to pricing, including impact of changes, you will support Checkatrade in optimising its future pricing strategy. Where do you fit in?

Reporting to the Pricing Manager you will work collaboratively with finance, data & insights and sales teams to source the required data to understand business and pricing performance across new sales and renewals. You will share analysis and make recommendations to adjust and optimise ensuring we delivered towards our budget expectations.  

Skilled in identifying trends and opportunities you will maximise revenue through price changes and work with internal partners to drive profitable solutions, improve existing products and processes as well as ensure new initiatives are viable and realised. This includes price trials and A/B testing of different pricing strategies.

You will also have the opportunity to feed into other budgetary areas for example marketing effectiveness and overhead expense analysis along with assisting the FP&A team as required with month end reports, forecasts and ad hoc analysis.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Degree qualified in Maths, Economics, Data Science, Business or similar numerical field.
  • Previous experience in a similar Financial Analysis or other Business Intelligence/ Pricing/ Commercial/ Revenue management type role.
  • Advanced Excel experience and the ability to quickly pick up technologies/ tools such as Power BI, SQL, R or Machine learning.
  • A strong communicator with the skill to translate large volumes of complex data and analysis into concise insights and recommendations.
