About The Role

Interim Head of Financial Planning and Analysis (ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified)

Location:  Portsmouth, Hampshire.

Are you an experienced FP&A leader? Have you got experience managing an FP&A function for a growing medium sized business?

An opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Financial Planning expert with a track record of delivering towards financial objectives. Working closely with the Checkatrade senior management team, you will lead the FP&A team driving business growth through budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and insightful commercial analysis. Additionally, your team will be providing financial modelling for specific projects including acquisitions and new product development.  

Where do you fit in?

The Head of Financial Planning and Analysis will play a pivotal role in providing strategic and commercially sound insights during a period of significant technology and product transition. Like for like experience providing FP&A leadership for a full business entity is essential, ideally in a similar medium sized business. This will include a full spectrum of FP&A support from financial modelling to preparation of annual budgets, monthly variance analysis, forecasting and reporting. You will lead our FP&A team, developing and coaching team members, building up a strong FP&A function that sits at the centre of our decision making.

What do you need to succeed?

  • A qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Strong commercial finance background with expertise in Financial Modelling
  • Sound leadership and management skills and a track record of building capability across a team and the wider business
  • Strong modelling skills, experienced at modelling the whole business (integrated P&L, balance sheet)
  • Ability to guide less experienced team members, but with a willingness to be hands on with the core budget / forecasting model where necessary
  • Experience of running the annual budget process, engaging with leaders around the business
